Wspólnie z Fundacją Urban Memory, Politechniką Drezdeńską oraz Katedrą Judaistyki im. Tadeusza Taubego Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego zapraszamy na spotkanie autorskie z redaktorami, Marią Luft i prof. Timem Buchenem oraz ze współautorami książki "Breslau / Wrocław 1933-1949. Studien zur Topographie der Shoah", m.in. Annelies Augustyns, Karoliną Jarą, Agnieszką Jabłońską, Danielem Ljunggrenem.

W książce autorzy w nowy sposób przyglądają się historii Zagłady we Wrocławiu. Interdyscyplinarny zespół wybrał różne perspektywy i konteksty, w których dochodziło do wykluczenia, prześladowań i eksterminacji w przestrzeni miejskiej oraz zrekonstruował miejsca i sfery życia Żydów: pracę i mieszkalnictwo, religię i politykę, sztukę i kulturę. Przebadane zostały również skutki Zagłady z perspektywy czasu - na przykład w odniesieniu do cmentarzy, kartografii miasta, wspomnień o Wrocławiu czy źródeł archiwalnych dotyczących Zagłady.

Nasi goście opowiedzą o kluczowych zagadnieniach, które porusza publikacja oraz o jej genezie. Zebrane w książce "Breslau/Wrocław 1933-1949. Studien zur Topographie der Shoah" studia nad topografią Zagłady w Breslau/Wrocławiu rzucają nowe światło na wykluczenie Żydów w przestrzeni miejskiej w okresie narodowego socjalizmu, a także na różne perspektywy postrzegania Zagłady w pierwszych latach powojennych w Polsce - szczególnie we Wrocławiu, w Izraelu, w Niemczech, w tym w różnych archiwach i materiałach archiwalnych tych krajów. Publikacja oferuje nowe odczytanie struktury miasta w latach 1933-1949, o czym opowiedzą redaktorzy i autorzy podczas spotkania.

Publikacja jest wynikiem międzynarodowego projektu badawczego prowadzonego w latach 2018-2021 przez Politechnikę Drezdeńska.

Together with the Urban Memory Foundation, Dresden University of Technology and the Chair of Judaic Studies at the University of Wroclaw, we invite you to a meeting of the authors with the editors, Maria Luft and Prof. Tim Buchen, and the co-authors of the book "Breslau / Breslau 1933-1949. Studien zur Topographie der Shoah", including Annelies Augustyns, Karolina Jara, Agnieszka Jablonska, Daniel Ljunggren.

In the book, the authors take a new look at the history of the Holocaust in Wroclaw. The interdisciplinary team chose different perspectives and contexts in which exclusion, persecution and extermination took place in the urban space, and reconstructed the places and spheres of Jewish life: labor and housing, religion and politics, art and culture. Examined were also the effects of the Holocaust from the perspective of time - for example, in relation to cemeteries, cartography of the city, memories of Breslau and archival sources on the Holocaust.

Our guests will talk about the key issues raised by the publication and its genesis. Collected in the book "Breslau/Wrocław 1933-1949: Studien zur Topographie der Shoah," the study of the topography of the Shoah in Breslau/Wrocław sheds new light on the exclusion of Jews in the urban space during National Socialism, also on the different perspectives on the perception of the Holocaust in the first post-war years in Poland - especially in Wrocław, Israel, and Germany, including various archives and archival materials of these countries. The publication offers a new reading of the city's structure between 1933 and 1949, which the editors and authors will discuss at the meeting.
