👉6:10 pm - 6:40 pm - "Serverless" feed ingestion in AWS by Steven Hammersley

Abstract: 

Re-thinking architecture in a public cloud environment: from PoC to production. How an agile team with little AWS experience built a solution to a genuine problem ingesting and distributing fixture data, using AWS managed services and serverless technology. An insight into sports betting, the trading department and the problem, followed by a deep-dive into the solution architecture.

BIO:

Steven is a solutions architect at William Hill specialising in designing, building and operating trading systems. Predominantly working with high-throughput low-latency workloads to provide accurate, real-time pricing information for markets offered on live sporting events to a global customer-base.

Instrumental in the shift from monolithic trading systems to a micro-service architecture. More recently a champion for William Hill's journey into public cloud, taking a re-factor approach to migration where managed services and new technology can be leveraged to achieve business goals with low-touch operations and low-cost infrastructure.

Get insights how we introduced an agile approach and adopted cloud technology to deliver awesome user experiences for Porsche customers and fans. I will share our best practice and challenges for enabling software development capabilities in a car focused enterprise context.

BIO:

Roman is a member of the portfolio for the My Porsche ecosystem. He initiated the shift to agile software development at Porsche and created together with his colleagues an agile portfolio with cross-functional product teams. He has been a driver and evangelist for the digital transformation at Porsche and he is a passionate builder of agile organizations.

Abstract: 

Get insights how we introduced an agile approach and adopted cloud technology to deliver awesome user experiences for Porsche customers and fans. I will share our best practice and challenges for enabling software development capabilities in a car focused enterprise context.

BIO: 

Technical specialist and architect with main focus on creating business focused solutions (architecture, design, planning, implementation, operations). This includes specialising in public and private clouds, networks, virtualisation, enterprise storage and operating systems.

Instrumental in setting up the AWS landing zone and AWS foundations for WilliamHill and working with various parts of the business in their journey to digital transformation.
