10.00 - 11.30 School in crisis circumstances: supporting the soft skills of educators, students and parents. The labour market and soft skills in the context of the influx of refugees from Ukraine.

The role of school in the refugee crisis. Mental resistance of teachers, everyday functioning of the school in extreme conditions. Prevention of difficult situations, adaptation processes, language barriers, responsibility of educators, students and parents in the communication process. Preparing newcomers to the Polish labour market.

Moderation: Joanna BOCHNIARZ, General Director, CIE

Wanda ŁUCZAK, Director of the 1st Social Secondary School of General Education patroned by Maharaja Jam Saheba Digvijay Sinhji

  • Agnieszka ZIELIŃSKA, Head of the Polish HR Forum

11.30 - 12.00 Coffee Break

12.00 - 13.30 Labour market: transferrable skills, employers' expectations and the possibilities of the school. The changing labour market and transferrable skills that the school should develop. The discrepancy between the expectations of employers and the competences taken from the school: responsibility vs. the performance of instructions, creativity vs. taking tests, cooperation in a group vs. accounting for the individual achievements of the student. Transferrable or transversal competences are highly desired by employers, but the recruitment advertisements for VET graduates are dominated by the requirements relating to technical skills and having experience that a young person does not have. That is why it is so important to engage business in educational activities: admitting pupils and students to internships, contact with job experts and the possibility of practical verification of the acquired knowledge.

Moderation: Jule HILDMANN (PhD), Senior Research Fellow, University of Edinburgh; Head of Research, CIE

  • Danuta JAZŁOWIECKA, Senator of the Republic of Poland
  • Loukas ZAHILAS Cedefop, Head of the Department for VET and Qualifications
  • Monika HACKEL, DR, Head of Structure and Order of Vocational Training, BIBB
  • Dr hab. prof. UG Arnold KŁONCZYŃSKI, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, University of Gdańsk

13.30 - 14.30 Lunch Break

14.30 - 16.00 Attractiveness of vocational education: Digital and gamification tools at school and obstacles to their use. Tools increasing the attractiveness of vocational education and EU projects supporting it. The Covid-19 pandemic turned out to be an opportunity to accelerate the digitization processes in education. Gamification. Good practices from Europe.
